Minite engaged in a collaboration with none other than the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University who hired a team of 4 incredible Minite High-Flyers to help achieve an ambitious goal they didn’t think was achievable - until they met Minite.

The project

IdeaBoosterLab by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University is a three-month entrepreneurship training program for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs, offered by top European universities recognized worldwide for their expertise in the field. The program is funded by the European Research Council and offers cutting-edge business and entrepreneurial knowledge aimed at empowering new businesses. RSM needed support to promote the program in order to gather a large number of high-quality applications from aspiring entrepreneurs.

The challenge: 15% target achieved with only 4 weeks to go

They faced a big challenge. Professor Rosendahl Huber: “At first, we worked with a typical marketing agency and ran paid social media ads. We had a very ambitious target in terms of signups. However, this approach didn’t deliver the numbers we needed. After 3 weeks we were only at 15% of our target and had just 4 weeks left. At this stage, we thought we would never hit our goal. We definitely lacked the manpower and knowledge to make it work. I’m a researcher, so marketing is not my core expertise either.”

And so, prof Rosendahl Huber reached out to Minite. “I met Minite’s founders at the opening of Erasmus Enterprise and loved the concept right away. Other people had also mentioned Minite to me as a great way to find highly qualified student talent.”

With 4 weeks to go until the IBL application deadline, this was a truly ambitious project. So, Minite took on the challenge with both hands! Within 24 hours, Minite put together a strong team of 4 High-Flyers, complementary in skills and knowledge. Things kicked off rapidly: a must given the tight schedule. Prof Rosendahl Huber: “The Minite team was so good: enthusiastic, full of energy and ideas. I truly felt that they understand our target audience, how to reach them, and how to execute. Minite also had the right network to tap into, which helped establish trust between third parties and IdeaBoosterLab.”

A zero euro marketing budget: A robot, a sheep, and other effective stunts

The team wasted no time in getting to work, much to the delight of the IdeaBoosterLab team. “Minite far exceeded our expectations. I’m so impressed by the quality of the team and how fast we were getting new signups. The curve was just immediately straight upward.” Without any marketing budget, the High-Flyers created strong online and offline content including videos that were broadcast on huge screens, reached out to organisations, walked around in a sheep costume (entrepreneurSheep), and even got a robot involved. Spot the robot by YES!Delft danced around campus, creating a huge buzz. Prof Rosendahl Huber smiles when she thinks of all the creative ideas Minite’s High-Flyers executed. “There was so much going on every single day. I loved the spirit and effectiveness of it all. Organizations that had previously rejected us were now interested.” That’s some great communication and persuasion skills!

Mission accomplished: target hit.. and overachieved

In the last few days, Minite was particularly on top of things, calculating how many signups were needed per day and constantly pushing and motivating each other to keep going. Did IdeaBoosterLab expect the end result? “We overachieved on our target by 110% which was beyond our belief. The numbers were amazing. If we had stayed with the marketing agency we would have never reached 110% which is where we were at with Minite,” says prof Rosendahl Huber. “Looking at the graph, there is a really clear change when Minite stepped in: both in terms of new signups and conversions. With our Facebook ads, we had leads but the majority did not convert into applicants. Minite’s leads did.”

The secret of great achievement is teamwork

What does prof Rosendahl Huber love most about Minite? “The entrepreneurial spirit! There is lots of creativity and they really know what they are doing. It was so valuable that Micky and Linky (Minite’s founders) were involved as well. They pushed and motivated the team, and shared ideas on what to try next or who to reach out to, constantly keeping track of progress. I can absolutely recommend Minite to anyone: this was an incredible experience that has helped us tremendously. Thank you, Minite!”
