Hi! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hey, I'm Nicolas. I studied computer science at TU Delft and right now I'm on an exchange program at EPFL, a university in Lausanne, Switzerland. As for my free time, I love to do combat sports and play the guitar!

How did you find out about Minite?

I was looking for a job at some point during the first year of my master's program. I discussed it with a friend, and she luckily sent me a link to Minite’s website. I instantly signed up and got a job soon after!

"Well, there's a part of it that I'm very happy about, and that's the flexibility. Currently, I'm in Switzerland, a completely different country, and I can still work with the company."

Can you tell us more about your current job,  tasks and responsibilities?

I started my Minite job around February, in the field of software development. It’s been over a year now! My main task has been focused on graph representation and finding effective ways to visualize the data. I've been working on making sure the information is presented in a clear and readable manner so that anyone can easily understand the underlying data. I'm still actively working on this project.

What do you like most about your job?

Well, there's a part of it that I'm very happy about, and that's the flexibility. Currently, I'm in Switzerland, a completely different country, and I can still work with the company. It's a significant advantage as it means I don't have to worry about finding a new job or adjusting to different tasks. I can simply continue with them. Another aspect I appreciate is how it has allowed me to explore a different facet of software development. In a classroom setting, you often produce work solely to meet the professor's requirements and earn a grade. In this job, it's very different. There's more interaction and collaboration between my boss and the end-users, while I have to meet more flexible requirements. This gives me a good glimpse into how software development functions in the real world.

"Many of my friends have had a tough time finding part-time jobs. Minite simplifies the job search by providing opportunities in specific fields."

What do you like most about being a High-Flyer or freelancing with Minite?

I believe it's the freedom that stands out the most. Without that freedom, I wouldn't be able to work from Switzerland. Additionally, having the skills to adapt and work from wherever I need is incredibly valuable. Moreover, I feel that it has also opened up new opportunities for me. Minite offers a broad range of job opportunities, which I find very appealing.

Why would you recommend Minite to your friends?

There are a few strong reasons why I would recommend it. First and foremost, it offers good pay, which is a significant plus. Many of my friends have had a tough time finding part-time jobs. Minite simplifies the job search by providing opportunities in specific fields. Moreover, I think most of my friends understand the struggle of balancing work and studies. In this regard, Minite helps bridge the gap and makes it more manageable.
